Join Pacific Horticulture and the Hardy Plant Society of Oregon for an inspiring exploration of the role of the landscape within an urban setting. Traditional public parks and private gardens offer relief from crowded conditions. Discover how pocket parks, rooftop plantings, street side gardens, and other creative small landscapes in unlikely spaces extend nature’s reach throughout our cities and provide healthy green space and habitat for pollinators and wildlife.
Our daylong seminar begins with keynote speaker Patrick Cullina, the horticulturist and designer best known for his leadership in developing New York City’s Highline Park and projects at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

Speakers and designers include:

Karla Dakin, K. Dakin Design and co-author of The Professional Design Guide to Green Roofs
Evelyn Hadden, LessLawn advocate and author of Hellstrip Gardening
Lorene Edwards Forkner, author and editor of Pacific Horticulture.
